Lie #20

Misleading the public that Pat Escalante was well qualified to be a superintendent.

Proof of the lie:


Pat Escalante had no prior Superintendent experience nor did she have a doctor of Education degree which all previous HBCSD Superintendents have had.


NOTE: Pat Escalante had already been LET GO as principal after five years from Beverly Hills Unified School District when HBCSD hired her as principal at Valley School in 2011.  The next year (2012) school board members made her superintendent of HBCSD.  Pat Escalante does not have a Doctor of Education degree nor did she have any superintendent experience.


(1)  Pat Escalante was principal at El Rodeo School in the Beverly Hills Unified School District for five years.   She was released from her position as principal in 2010.


(2) Negative comments on RateMyTeachers.com about Pat Escalante as principal at El Rodeo School in Beverly Hills. 

 

(3)  BHUSD then “promoted” Pat Escalante to Director of Pupil Services/ Preschool Development/Adult Education. Pat Escalante took a $9,276/year pay cut after she was "promoted" to be director of Pupil Services.

 

(4)  Proof that Pat Escalante took a $9,276.00/year pay cut as director of Pupil Services/ Preschool Development/Adult Education at BHUSD. 

 

(5) After only one year (2010 – 2011), Pat Escalante was let go from her position as director of the Pupil Services/Adult School in May 2011

 

(6) Dr. Alan Rasmussen Ed.D. was hired to give Pat Escalante superintendent “lessons” from 2012 to 2014 at a cost of approximately $40k.

Lie #43: (1)Claiming that HBCSD School Board members were NOT responsible for misinformation on the YES on Measure Q website in fall 2014. (2) Superintendent Pat Escalante refusal to correct misinformation on the YES on Measure Q website when called out by a community member and corrected by the FPAC chair.
