HBCSD Corruption
Lie #40
Claiming that HBCSD is the lowest funded school district in the South Bay.
Proof of the lie:
(1) LCFF stands for Local Control Funding Formula. LCFF went into went into effect for all California school districts in the 2013-2014 school year.
(2) The LCFF formula established a base grant per student depending on their grade level. Base grants included a supplemental add-ons per student for English Learners (EL), free and reduced-price meals (FRPM) eligible students and foster youth students, and provides additional funding for K-3 Class Size Reduction (CSR), grades 9-12, Home-to-School Transportation, and Targeted Instructional Improvement Grants (TIIG).
(3) The base grant rates for 2015-2016 were: K-3 = $7,083/student; 4-6 = $7,189/student; 7-8 = $7,403/student; 9-12 = $8,598/student
(4) The base grant rates for 2021-2022 with Grade Span Adjustment (i.e. Class Size Reduction): K-3 = $8,935/student; 4-6 = $8,215/student; 7-8 = $8,458/student, 9-12 = $10,057/student
(5) “unduplicated pupils” are defined as: Pupils who (1) are English learners, (2) meet income or categorical eligibility requirements for free or reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch Program, or (3) are foster youth. “Unduplicated count” means that each pupil is counted only once even if the pupil meets more than one of these criteria (EC sections 2574[b][2] and 42238.02[b][1]).
